Summer Season Schedule

Summer Wrestling Makes Winter Champions. That's right, it is once again time to relax, lay by the pool, bask in the glory of not having to go to school, and attend practice with friends to ensure championships during the school season.

The Summer Season is split into two sessions. The 1st session is designed to prepare those wrestling in the Summer National Tournaments to be ready to compete to the best of their abilities by focusing on Intense Drilling, Competitive Mindset, and Match Strategy specifically tailored to each individual. The 2nd Session will be more focused on adding new and exciting technique to our repertoire without the pressure of competition. The new techniques that we will be learning in the Summer is broken into 3 categories: Neutral - Re-Shots, Counter Shots, and Scrambling; Top - Leg Riding, Half Nelson, Arm Bar/Chicken Wing, and "The Humphrey Face Crusher"; Bottom - Granby, Leg Defense, and Mud Move/Shrug. At the end of the season there will be a Summer Season banquet on August 8th. This is a chance to hang out with other members and get to know each other on a more personal level. We will also be giving away awards for individual performances throughout the season. Remember, Humphrey Wrestling: It's much more than just wrestling.

At Southeastern Wrestling Club we believe in world-class technique and superior position. We have found that every move and position in wrestling comes down to four rules: Head Up, Back Straight, Hips In, and Pressure Into Your Opponent. If you can maintain these four rules and force your opponent to break them, you will surely be successful. Along with technique, our second focus at Southeastern Wrestling Club is superior position which begins with battling for head position. Therefore head position is a daily focus. While battling for head position we stress pressuring the opponent and controlling the tie up. By maintaining these four rules and working for head position our wrestlers can control every opponent.
